Handling basics
Storage & Handling
Understand why formulation, label instructions, temperature, light exposure and preparation state matter. Storage guidance is product-specific.
Start with the exact product
An authorised medicine, a lyophilised research vial, a topical formulation and a reconstituted solution can have different stability requirements. Do not transfer storage instructions between formulations just because the active name looks similar.
What to verify
✓Manufacturer or trial formulation and labelled storage range.
✓Whether the product is dry, liquid, opened or reconstituted.
✓Light, temperature and freeze/thaw restrictions.
✓Use-by or in-use period stated for the specific formulation.
!Do not infer sterility, stability or shelf life from appearance alone.
WhichPeps boundary: this page explains evidence and label-reading principles. It does not validate an unverified product or invent storage instructions when the product/formulation is unknown.
